Training and Equipment
All of our responders are trained to respond using the equipment we provide. We carry a range of equipment to allow them to assist the person(s) in need of help.
The training consists of a 2 day course taught by trainers from SECAmb, followed by a day of assessments. It covers
- use of an AED,
- Oxygen therapy,
- BLS (CPR),
- To provide a professional handover to the responding crew
It also looks at how to deal with medical emergencies such as
- Heart Attack
- Stroke
- Breathing Difficulties
- Fitting
- Burns
Each kit consits of:
- 1 Automaitic External Defibrillator.
- 1 Oxygen bottle, with adult and paediatric masks
- A selection of OP Oropharyngeal airways
- Bandages and burns dressings
- Hi Visibility jacket
- SECAmb ID card
