Public Access Defibrillators
At Haslemere Community First Responders, as well as providing cover and responders with full kits, we would also like to provide Pubic Access Defibrillators.
Public Access Defibrillators is a system of providing an Automatic External Defibrilator (AED) at a location where anyone can get this lifesavng piece of equipment when it is required
These will be located at strategic sites around the area we cover, and consist of a AED, either in a locked heated box, with a code access panel, or placed in a local shop, or public building.
When the Ambulance control room receives an emergancy call believed to be a cardiac arrest, as well as dispatching an ambulance crew, and a Responder if available, they can also inform the caller of the location of the PAD site, along with the access code.
The AED is designed so that anyone can use it, with no training required, as the unit tells the operator what to do at all times. All the Ambulance control call takers are trained to also talk the caller through the use of the AED.
Here are 2 PAD sites provide by the scheme in Billingshurst.
